Stambaugh Announces Grants for Local Fire, EMS Departments

February 13, 2026

HARRISBURG – Nearly $409,000 in grant money will be coming to Perry and Juniata counties’ hard-working first responders through the Office of the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, Rep. Perry Stambaugh (R-Perry/Juniata) announced.

A total of 28 fire companies and ambulance/rescue squads across the 86th Legislative District are recipients of the grants administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner. The money — coming from proceeds generated by slot machine gaming — can be used for facility upgrades, equipment purchases or repair, debt reduction, education and public outreach, training, or volunteer recruitment and retention.

“Firefighters and those who provide emergency medical services put themselves on the line every day for our townships and boroughs,” Stambaugh notes. “Most do so as volunteers. These grants are one small way to support their tireless efforts and boost public safety.”
