Stambaugh Announces Grant Funding for Delaware Township

January 6, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Perry Stambaugh (R-Perry/Juniata) announced that Delaware Township was awarded a $1.65 million state Multimodal Transportation Fund grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA).

The funding will be used to assist with a complete reconstruction of 1.6 miles of Black Dog Road, a key local throughfare that links important commercial and agricultural areas to U.S. 22/322. One of the enterprises located on Black Dog Road ranks as a critical national infrastructure supply facility in the domestic manufacture of influenza and childhood disease vaccines.

Planned improvements include road widening, replacement of undersized culverts, boosting the roadway base and paving to support large trucks and farm equipment.

“This investment will significantly improve safety, reliability, and access along Black Dog Road, which serves as a vital connector for our local economy,” Stambaugh said.

Multimodal Transportation Fund grants may be used for the development, rehabilitation, and enhancement of streetscapes, lighting, sidewalks, connectivity of transportation assets, and transit projects. CFA is an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development.
